The New TFC Group is ready for 2012

January 25, 2012

TFC Europe Ltd is delighted to release some more information on the acquisition of Engineering Services Fasteners (ESF) which was acquired in November and now has been integrated into the TFC Group, becoming the UK’s Northern centre for quality industrial threaded fasteners.

TFC Engineering Services (ESF) is based in Keighley, Yorkshire, just north of the M62 corridor which connects the North West and North East of England, and specialises in the supply of quality industrial threaded fasteners. This move now means that TFC can offer its customers National fastener logistics coverage. TFC are now able to offer their full range of Direct Line Feed and Vendor Managed services locally to customers in the North.

ESF was established in the mid-seventies and developed into a broad based fastener and associated product distributor focused on the engineering industries of the North. ESF was the subject of an MBO in 2002 by the two vendors who took over the business from the founder. One of the vendors, Tony Bull, is now the General Manager of ESF within the TFC Group whilst John Wilson retired immediately.

ESF has developed a very good reputation for service and quality with its existing customers and although it was originally well known for its expertise in cap-screws and high tensile bolting it has expanded to meet customer demands and now includes a wide variety of fasteners and fixings, turned parts, consumables, PPE, and various industrial tools.

ESF will continue to service its customers in the North as before but with the support of the TFC Group which will allow the ESF team to focus more on customer requirements than the back office demands of running an independent business. Support from the TFC wider team will enable benefits of scale improvements to IT, logistics, purchasing and quality and this will be witnessed by customers as further improvements to an already impressive service record.

TFC’s Managing Director Morgan Burgoyne said “This is a great opportunity for our customers and for the TFC Group. ESF is a business that we would have been proud to establish but it would have taken years to develop. However we now have the benefit of a fully developed and mature business which with the access to TFC technology, products and skills will create a world class fastener and associated product and service supplier for customers in the North. There is great scope for the newly combined TFC northern sales team from ESF and TFC to work together to generate significant growth and we’re already working on this”.

The ESF integration into the TFC Group means that turnover will approach £20m over the coming year with 7 customer service centres throughout Europe. TFC offers its customers full UK National supply chain assistance and logistics coverage whilst maintaining its renowned technical product range and technical support services throughout Europe.
